Shoei riders have dominated the first two rounds of the new Moto2 class in the MotoGP series. This class offers an opportunity for young riders to prove themselves against a full grid of nearly identical machines. In fact, the power plants of the entire field are identical Honda 600cc engines. Only the chassis varies by team. This combination provides for incredibly competitive racing, with multiple lead changes often occurring during a single lap!
Shoei rider Toni Elias rode to a popular win in front of his Spanish countrymen. Series points leader, Shoya Tomizawa has been the surprise of the year! Prior to 2010, 15th was his highest finish ever. He’s currently leading the points following his second place finish this weekend. Long time Shoei racer Thomas Luthi rounded out the podium to make it a clean Shoei sweep!
Taylor Robert looks to be the future of Shoei’s off-road domination after cruising to victory in round one of the 2010 WORCS Series. After grabbing the holeshot aboard his Valli Motorsports Yamaha, Taylor opened up a comfortable lead quickly and was able to back down the pace and cruise to victory on his home track in Arizona.
